“ Hoopples is a Cleveland classic. I prefer this view of the drawbridge and downtown closeup to the boujiee view from Pier W. There is also a nice patio outside in the back if outdoor action is what you crave. ”
“ As much as I like going out to new, hyped hotspots, I also love cozy, relaxed & casual dive bar vibes. Hoopples definitely hits the mark. Warm, friendly atmosphere, personable staff, solid drink selection, a simple menu with classic feel-good comfort food, darts & machine bowling, and local decor honoring Cleveland sports, motorcycle culture, and other local interests. Street parking is available. The establishment is also much bigger inside than it looks from the outside, with a good amount of seating inside and out on the patio. Hoopples has a mix of the after-work crowd winding down after a long day, locals having a good time to eat, drink, enjoy each other's company, and watch a sports game. I came on a weekday night, and while it was buzzing with energy, it wasn't too crowded, which was nice. Overall, if you're looking to have a casual, super laidback hangout spot, I would definitely recommend Hoopples! ”
“ Pleasantly surprised by how good this burger was. The patio of this place is beautiful, specially now that it's nice outside. Bartender was great, super nice and fast with the orders. ”
“ You can't find a better bar with a great view. The food and drinks are not pretentious yet they are solid. ”
“ It dosnet get much more "Cleveland" than Hooples. This place have been around forever and for good reason - great drinks good food and a really friendly atmosphere ”
“ I've been here a few times for after work happy hours. They have awesomely priced drinks and above average bar food. All of the bar staff I've interacted with have been prompt, friendly and accommodating. They also have cool eclectic historical photos and maps as decor. ”
“ Been to Hooples a couple of times after work with work friends and I have found it to be the perfect type of place to unwind and quench your thirst. Located on the West Side of the Cuyahoga in the flats Hooples seems to have been there forever. The decor is the usual dive bar decor, but is elevated by the wall of windows that have a spectacular view of the flats and Downtown Cleveland. The drinks are affordable and the bartender is excellent. If you are looking for a lowkey place near to Downtown, Ohio City or Tremont, but not part of any of them to grab a drink, give Hooples a try. ”
“ This is one of those iconic Cleveland joints that I have driven by for the past 3 years without ever stopping but had a strong need to go have a drink there. I was at the Foundry for an event and knew that I just HAD to finally go. Best part was that we found out it was taco tuesday! Score! The tacos are 2 for $3 and the speciality tacos are 2 for $6. The speciality tacos this night were a bbq pulled pork with slaw and homemade tortilla strips on top. This taco was absolutely delicious! My sister and I split the tacos so I tried their beef and she tried their chicken one and we both loved our choices. We sat inside since we arrived later at night but I will be back to eat more delicious food and enjoy a drink on the patio. ”
“ This place checks off a lot of boxes for me...great views, comfortable bar with interesting beer choices and solid burgers. What more could you ask for in a divey little bar near the Flats? My wife and I needed a spot close to downtown to grab a quick bite before our show. Been wanting to try their burgers for some time, and when Dr. J. said she was in the mood for a burger, this place became the obvious choice (to try something new). We ordered two burgers (which we would split), a house salad with bleu cheese to share and a couple of Irish Ales. We sat up at the main bar with a picture-perfect view of dusk falling over the city skyline. Perfect! The burgers were ordered medium, and although they were probably cooked closer to medium-well they stayed pretty juicy and tasty. We had the Hoopple burger (with "special sauce") and a regular cheeseburger...each came with a side of fries. To tell you the truth, neither one of us was really jiving on the Hoopple burger, but man were we wrong! The combination of grilled salami and ham under a blanket of melted Provolone cheese and their special Hoopple sauce was a real winner! The fries were thin, shoestring style and tasted great dipped in that leftover sauce used on the burger. We went "European" and ate the hot food first and finished off the meal by eating the salad. It was a loaded plate filled with a variety of veggies and a decent bleu cheese dressing (we had to order extra). A very satisfying meal, and burgers that hold up pretty well with some of the better ones we've had around the Cleveland area. Give this place a try, an unexpected find!!! ”
